My Approach to Helping
I have a broad base of experience helping people with relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, deepening sense of self and finding meaning in life through self exploration, awareness, and creative process.
I welcome individuals, children, and couples into my practice. My approach takes shape according to your particular needs and may include dream work, guided imagery, or sandplay. I offer a free initial phone consultation.
More Info About My Practice
In addition to my psychotherapy practice I am a faculty member with the JFK University continuing education department. I teach in the Guided Imagery Certification program. I also co-founded the non-profit: Sonoma Psycho-Oncology, which provides psychotherapy/guided imagery to cancer patients and their family members and friends. I completed a training program in Integrative Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, and spent almost two years working with Marin General and Novato Community hospitals.
I am also a certified Sandplay Therapist with Sandplay Therapists of America.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
When your sense of self is overshadowed by traumatic and emotionally painful experiences, it can be difficult to feel balanced and vital in life, and relationships often seem impossible. The therapeutic process can help foster your innate strengths and resiliency while you explore your vulnerabilities and concerns. Together we help you build a greater understanding of yourself through awareness and changing limiting patterns, fears, and beliefs. In this way you become rooted in a life grounded in meaning, aliveness, and depth. When we are rooted in ourselves, relationships become easier to cultivate, maintain, and enjoy.
