My Approach to Helping
I believe that you are more than your circumstances and are built to be resilient, but sometimes the circumstances can (and do) get the best of you. When that happens you may start to question your value to those you care about. Or maybe you put on your smile and press through without exactly addressing the problem at hand. That gets frustrating, and can honestly just cause a strain in the relationship with yourself and others. Allow me to work with you to help you navigate through anxiety and those past experiences that are currently impacting your relationship with family, friends, and significant others.
My philosophy when it comes to emotions is that we must go through them, but we cannot allow ourselves to get stuck in the stress or discomfort. Being able to persevere happens because you are naturally resilient, even when you can't see it for yourself. Seriously, if you don’t think you are, look back. You have gotten through 100% of the things you have gone through in your life, and each experience has led you to this very moment. It’s okay to need help to get through the now.
My goal is to meet you where you are and to teach you how to find joy in spite of whatever your experience has been. It takes work, but we will do this by building tools and supports for you to use, especially when you feel you are the most vulnerable, to help you persevere.
