Infidelity of any type can create deep hurts within your relationship. Maybe you and your partner can't even agree on if certain behaviors are infidelity or not. My clients normally seek out counseling because some type of sexual behavior is causing problems for at least one of you. Many of my clients face sexual compulsive behaviors from looking at pornography so much it is hurting their sex life and relationship. To clients who use social media to flirt and send provocative images or clients who end up in some type of affair (sometimes physical or emotional). No matter what behaviors are present each partner ends up feeling hopeless and alone. This disconnection does not have to end the relationship, partners who are willing to work can learn new ways to reconnect and rebuild trust.

When working with clients we set the first goal of stopping problematic behaviors. My client learns to see how all of their fights tend to follow the same cycle and learn how to stop this negative cycle of disconnection. My clients learn to understand their own needs and wants. Then learn to ask their partner to meet them. With some work, both partners learn to create emotional safety with each other. Healing from any type of breach of trust takes time, and if that breach of trust was sexual in nature it can be repaired. My clients learn that trust can be regained through consistent behavior, empathy, and accountable to each other. Many of my clients have been able to work through breaches of trust and have formed a happier and healthier relationship than they had at the start.

When working with clients my first goal is to lower the hostility that might exist in the relationship. I help the partner who is hurting because of betrayal of trust, by listening and helping them set new boundaries. In turn, their partner learns how to be empathic and connected. If you are struggling with any of these issues I would love to help you start to heal. If you give me a call or we meet and I am not a good fit for you or your problem. I will help you find a therapist who can help you with your problems.
