Billing and Insurance

I am an in-network provider but I don't wish to specify which ones

Fees: I work on a sliding scale based on our city's 2018 median annual income and am an out-of-network (PPO) provider for most insurances. I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation to answer any questions you may have about therapy or the way I work. So I can be of most help, please include your insurance provider and type (HMO or PPO) when reaching out. I look forward to hearing from you.

'How do I find the right therapist?' has likely wandered through your mind recently. I offer client-centered psychotherapy to individuals struggling with a wide range of issues. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, relationship problems, life transitions, identity issues, work and career counseling, and trauma/PTSD. Overall, I view therapy as a collaborative relationship between client and therapist in which we work together towards client self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and healing. I believe therapy works best once we can manage your current stressors enough so as to start developing insight into how things have come to be.

I tailor my approach to my clients' needs so that each individual may develop their own clarity and confidence in moving through life's challenges. In doing so, I might draw from theoretical orientations such as cognitive-behavioral (emphasizing skills development), insight-oriented (also called 'psychodynamic'), and mindfulness-based approaches (focusing attention to become aware of emotions and habitual thinking).

It is a great privilege to assist people who are navigating difficult life transitions, whether educational, professional, developmental, spiritual or relationship-based. Going beyond a simple focus on communication skills and coping strategies, I enjoy helping people access meaning and connection, and to expand their options about how to respond to internal and external challenges.

=====PLEASE VISIT MY WEBSITE BY CLICKING THE LINK UNDER MY PHOTO TO SCHEDULE A COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION. ===== I have been acknowledged by the American Mindfulness Research Association for my skill and interest in integrating mindfulness-based approaches into my work. Although I particularly enjoy helping people develop self-awareness in this way, my savviness with several treatment modalities is highlighted by my being asked to write national licensing exams for other psychotherapists. Clients consider me to be warm, genuine, and insightful.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

While psychotherapy serves as a supportive space to alleviate current stressors and engage in the difficult but gratifying process of growing through them, I believe that the ultimate purpose of psychotherapy is to know yourself in a way that allows you to live more freely and fully -- in relationship to yourself, your coworkers, and your loved ones.

My Role as a Therapist

While it can sometimes seem that we'd give anything for someone else to tell us what to do, I believe psychotherapy is working at its highest potential when I can empower the client to access the inner, intuitive voice within them that can guide them confidently through the difficulties they face.
