My Approach to Helping

Relationships can be hard and complex. They can bring us great joy or great pain. I believe the way we operate stems from our unique family histories and affect us in all our relationships today. As a marriage and family therapist, I can help you maneuver through difficult life transitions, challenging relationships & help you improve your quality of life.

I specialize in couples & family therapy, as well as trauma and addiction. I have over 6 years experience and utilize a variety of modalities. I am a certified PrepareENRICH facilitator, trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and I utilize Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work (a research-based approach to relationships).

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

It is crucial that you find the right therapist for you as it is proven the best outcomes in therapy stem from a strong therapeutic relationship. So let's make sure we are the best fit!

What makes me unique is my honest and direct approach with clients. I like to use the metaphor of massages to describe my style of therapy. Some people enjoy Swedish massages because they temporarily distract the person from the pain and it feels good in the moment. However, the pain eventually comes back because they only touch the surface. Then, there are the deep tissue massages. These types of massages may leave someone sore the next day and hurt a bit while in session but can promote lasting relief.

Point being, if it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you. I am in the business of change and believe you can grow, adapt, and heal if you are willing to go past the shallow waters into the deep.
