My Approach to Helping
My approach to psychotherapy comes from a depth psychological perspective. Working together on your healing process in an atmosphere of mutual respect, we will address issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, and life transitions. Some of the goals of therapy are psychological integration, insight, well-being, and the discovery of meaning and purpose in life.
I work from a psychodynamic perspective that is individually focused, also using evidence-based practices such as Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment, Mindfulness, and Compassion Focused Therapy. These approaches recognize suffering as part of our human condition. We will explore material encountered in dreams and process conscious and unconscious thoughts and feelings through dialogue, journaling and expressive arts. We will explore our human journey together and the courage that it takes to live our lives.
