My Approach to Helping
Are you are unhappy and out of sorts? Or do sometimes you feel angry and aren’t sure why. Maybe you look ahead at your week and everything feels like a slog. You feel exhausted during the day, and then lie in bed with a knot in your chest at night.
Some days you hope things will get better on their own, some days you resign yourself to things staying this way forever.
If you feel like you are going through the motions in your life, and feeling disconnected in your relationships, I can help.
You are not alone in feeling this way. Our world often promotes perfectionism and keeping up appearances over getting real about ourselves, and each other. Creating opportunities for honest communication and growth is something we have to do for ourselves.
The truth is things rarely get better on their own. Working with a therapist you connect to in order to get your life back on track is a great option if you are willing to take the steps to make your life better.
If you have tried therapy before and not gotten any results, there’s a good chance you didn’t have the right kind of therapy. I practice a combination of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and have had excellent results helping people to improve their relationships and their lives.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
To be human is to struggle with sadness, worry, trauma and pain. However, these difficult times can create fertile soil where amazing growth can occur. I have had clients come out of incredibly low, dark, "stuck" periods and then gone on to create incredible positive change in their lives. It is such an immense honor to partner with people on this journey. This is my life's work and there is no other way I would rather spend my days.
Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work
I take an eclectic, individualized approach to therapy, but rely most heavily on my training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Relational Life Training (RLT). IFS is very effective at helping client really understand themselves,
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
I typically see clients once a week. It is very important to me that everyone I see feels that each session is valuable. I like to see people on 12-week cycles. At the first few sessions we look at problems and goals you want to address and then at the end of 12 weeks, we see what progress has been made. We then decide whether to stop therapy, hopefully, because the goals have been met, to make adjustments in the treatment to better reach the original goals, or to start a new cycle with new goals. This keeps both of us focused and productive.
