My Approach to Helping
Would you like to connect with yourself and discover new insights? Are you looking for ways to find peace and relaxation in your daily life? Do you feel the stress of daily living in a metropolis like New York City? Are your relationships not as fulfilling as you would like them to be? As an experienced psychotherapist working in a group private practice, and a transplant from Pennsylvania, I understand the ways this city can pull on us. I would like the chance to take my experience of growing up in the country, private practice, advocacy initiatives, and creative therapeutic models to help you discover the truth of who you are. I want to support you in discovering a new awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and body. We will work together to discover your goals and focus on healing, so you are able to live your best life.

I look forward to the opportunity to help you restore happiness and joy in your life.
My Role as a Therapist
I get asked this question a lot and I believe the most important role a therapist can fill for a client is a helper. As a therapist to my client's I am attentive, compassionate, curious, forgiving, and challenging. I believe it is my responsibility to set an example by being on time, present, and ready to participate in the therapeutic work. An expectation, I also hold for each of my clients.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
I have seen hundreds of clients in the greater New York City area, and several in Pennsylvania, and I can say confidently that having a healthy, supportive, trusting relationship with your therapist is primary to creating the change necessary to reaching your own version of happiness. I work hard to allow client's the space and time to try out my style of therapy, but I know my holistic, humanistic, and de-pathologizing orientation is not for every client. That is why, if you come to see me and realize we are not a good fit, I will help to find you a referral of a therapist that may be closer to your ideal match.
