My Approach to Helping

I believe that people are complex and that they are comprised of several components, each part informing the whole. These components are the heart, soul, mind, and strength. In order to work effectively with each person, I must take a whole-person approach. In sessions with me, individuals and couples are encouraged to explore their emotions, personality, thoughts, and behaviors. Through this exploration, I will help you grow and gain insight that will allow you to be more complete and grounded.

More Info About My Practice

Practicing primarily from a Psychodynamic frame with a strong emphasis on attachment, I incorporate Schema, Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and other Process-Experiential approaches and techniques based on the needs of the client(s).

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have extensive experience working with young adults, university students and young couples. I have worked in university and higher education settings as a clinician and administrator. I am a seasoned Student Affairs professional, my focuses being counseling, conduct, and Title IX (specifically within the realm of campus sexual assault). Because of my experience in these areas, I am skilled at working with and understanding the lives and situations of the millennial generation.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Making the decision to seek help andor guidance from a counselor can be challenging. We fear judgment, stigma and labeling. In my practice, I aim to make the process as safe, warm and welcoming as possible. Allowing you to feel confident in your choice to seek this type of help. Seeking therapy is about seeking truth. Knowing the truth will set you free.
