My Approach to Helping
I truly believe therapy can help you become the person you want to be. I offer a safe, judgment-free setting where you may explore your concerns, learn how to resolve your issues, and find lasting inner peace.
It is important to remember that you are the foremost expert on your life. My role is to guide you and help you open any locked doors you may encounter on your journey. While it is true that unlocking some doors may be painful, the process will allow you the opportunity to find closure, contentment, and peace. Scheduling your first session may be challenging, but I encourage you to take this vital step to recovery and open your first door.
Clear communication is essential to successful treatment. I am fluent in American Sign Language and have more than 17 years of experience as an interpreter. If you are Deaf or hard of hearing and are seeking counseling services in an understanding, judgment-free environment, please contact me by email or telephone.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and uses techniques from solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, strengths-based therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness approaches, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based modalities.
I attended the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and graduated with a concentration in crisis and trauma counseling. My professional experience includes providing mental health services to people of all ages, in both outpatient and inpatient treatment settings.
I am the loving husband of my beautiful wife and the proud father of my three young boys. Our family enjoys tasting new foods, visiting new places, and finding adventure wherever it may be.
