My Approach to Helping
I believe that when we come to therapy we mostly come because we have tried all the options we know of to get thru our difficulty and none of them work. A certain portion of therapy is clarifying what it is, at the core, that seems amiss with us. Part of the purpose of therapy is to facilitate the process of our own psyche to getting the "message" thru to us about what needs to change for us to move past the obstacles that seem to be in our path. My job, as a therapist, is to first help you to clarify for yourself what you find your obstacles to be, and then to help you find the be best ways for you to overcome them. We work at your pace, with your sense of what is most important guiding us all the way. Sometimes all you find yourself needing is a shift of perspective on your life's challenges to see the way thru to making them manageable for you.
