My Approach to Helping
**ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS**
Hello. My name is Tiffany and I would like to help you improve your mood, decrease stress and reframe the negative thoughts that keep you from living life to the fullest.
I am a licensed mental health counselor with a Master's Degree from the University of South Florida.
My specialties include anxiety, depression, stress management and anger management. I work with individuals of all ages as well.
During our time together, you will learn more about yourself as well as learn to increase positive coping and relaxation skills.
I believe that our thoughts control our actions and behaviors. When our thoughts are negative we feel and act negatively. I want to help you work through those thoughts that are holding you back. When our thoughts change for the better, our emotions and behaviors change for the better as well.
With realistic and measurable treatment goals, you will be able to see a positive change in yourself.
More Info About My Practice
I use a client-centered approach during sessions to ensure each and every client feels comfortable and safe. Trust must be built between the client and therapist for any real work to be done. It will be up to you what you want to discuss and when. All the therapy techniques and models used in the treatment process are evidenced-based. Some examples of the theories used in session are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). The techniques and skills learned will be something you can take home with you to use in your life.
We will work together to find the right therapy style for you so you can feel you are getting the most out of each session.
I offer in-person counseling at my office or online counseling services through a confidential and HIPAA compliant site.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
Be open to the experience and be aware of all the new skills you will be learning to better balance your life. It takes time to reframe the way we think because we have been thinking a certain way for so long. With the new skills and awareness of our thoughts, we can really start to see how our perspective changes for the better.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
In order for change to occur, there needs to be trust between the client and therapist. You are sharing things that you may not have told anyone before but please know that all information is confidential. The more open you are to the treatment process, the more you will get out of it. I will do my best to gain your trust because I want to help you overcome the areas in your life that are causing you distress.
