My Approach to Helping
I use creativity and innovation when working with you and use a goal-oriented, directive approach to help you achieve lasting change. Many times people come into therapy with a vague idea of wanting things to "get better. I help guide the way and pull out the ideas and changes that you really want to make, even if you can't find the words for them. I also fully believe in the power and magic of laughter and helping you get that back, especially if you can't remember the last time you did.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I love helping people who try so hard to have everything together on the surface and underneath are suffering; when it all looks good on paper. Sometimes this might be an anxiety issue, past trauma, or another issue, such as vicarious trauma that is specific to helping professionals and is a topic that is a very special interest of mine. I also love working with people who grew up with absent, narcissistic, abusive or otherwise avoidant parents and helping them process these painful attachment wounds.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can be one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Emotional pain is real and can have long-lasting effects. By giving yourself the opportunity to have a safe and sacred place of healing, you are able to challenge the things that may be holding you back from achieving goals, hopes, and dreams, and live the life you desire. Therapy is really about finding the right person who can help you heal in ways that you may not be able to imagine right now. A therapist helps you develop insight, see things that may be blocking you, see patterns in relationships that could be repeating and learn new ways of handling things.
