My Approach to Helping
I provide individual, child, and family therapy.
Education: I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. I am a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), a National Board Certified Counselor, and certified with Washington State as a Disability Mental Health Specialist (DDMHS). I have extensive experience working with adults, children, and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
My therapeutic approach is solution-focused and integrates family systems and cognitive behavioral therapy, emphasizing positive thought, developmental growth, and self-awareness. I incorporate a systems perspective into treatment and utilize various techniques including motivational interviewing, cognitive processing, play therapy, and collaborative problem solving. I emphasize the use of evidence-based practices including CBT, TF-CBT, mindfulness, and HNC-EC with children, teens, adults, families and parents.
