My Approach to Helping
Is there a part of you seeking balance, bravery, and belonging? Although life can be complicated, hope and human connection softens the challenges. I believe that people have the innate capacity to happiness and cultivate compassionate relationships (with others and themselves). My hope is to provide you with tools in order to recognize your full potential and live wholeheartedly. In my practice I use a variety of methods, primarily Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Experiencing Healing Touch, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the work of Dr. Brene Brown's The Daring Way.
More Info About My Practice
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, practice Somatic Experiencing, and Certified Daring Way Facilitator. Prior to private practice, I have over ten years of experiences with diverse populations through homeless, adoptionfoster care, and family programs. I actively participate in ongoing evidence-based training and value life-long community volunteering.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
The human spirit is heroic and I am inspired to hear the story behind it. I am deeply humbled by the bravery and vulnerability it takes to reveal painful experiences. It is my role to hold that space with empathy and compassion. When people recognize their worth beyond the quicksand of hurtful patterns beautiful transformations can happen. As a side note apart from seriousness, I also love laughing with people.
