My Approach to Helping

My primary orientation regarding mental health is that much of what we struggle with, depression, anxiety, addictions are strategies we developed to survive a world where many of our needs go unmet. Relational & developmental trauma are epidemic, and much of what we understand about the impact of that trauma on our bodies and minds is teaching us that it has a lasting effect throughout the lifespan. Science is also discovering that many of the symptoms of relational trauma are reversible. It takes time, commitment and effort, but now that science is understanding neuroplasticity, there is great hope for healing, transformation and growth.
