My Approach to Helping
I encourage my clients to utilize all of their resources- this includes spirituality. As an Interfaith-Interspiritual Minister I believe that ALL faith paths (including atheism) are equally valid and beautiful. Spirituality can be a powerful tool to help you heal.
My approach to helping people is to see you as a whole person. You are so much more than just your anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed feelings. You have strength and resilience you might not be able to see just yet. I use a holistic and highly intuitive approach to the counseling process that considers a person’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. My therapeutic toolkit contains traditional techniques such as reframing unhelpful thoughts and examining beliefs that are blocking the way to living with more joy. My toolkit also includes more esoteric practices like energy work, shamanic practices such as “journeying” and soul retrieval; and facilitating connection with spiritual helpers. These “helpers” can include ancestors, angels, Ascended Masters, and other guides. Past clients have reported experiencing a deeper sense of connection to themselves and an enhanced ability to trust their inner wisdom because of this work.
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which identifies and works with various aspects of your personality (referred to as "parts"). These "parts" (such as the Inner Critic) represent the places within us that are wounded and store painful emotions that conflict with each other and our core, or divine, essence. IFS sessions can include activities such as guided meditation, drawing, and journaling.
I am a Health At Every Size (HAES) oriented practitioner. This means I provide care that is weight-neutral. I do not support intentional weight loss for my clients.
