My Approach to Helping
I practice therapy from a systems perspective, meaning that I will truly take the necessary time to learn who you are, in addition to the time needed to understand what is transpiring all around you. This enables me to start to apprehend the various dimensions that make up the person you currently are. We will work collaboratively to thoroughly explore the parts of your life that you want to gain insight into and potentially adjust. We will additionally work together to establish goals to ultimately make those changes possible. I am a State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York and New Jersey. I am also a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) currently working at Phoenix House, one of the largest non-profit treatment agencies in the country. During my time in the field, I have worked closely with adolescent and adult populations suffering from both addiction and mental health disorders.
I recently trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) which is a helpful therapy for those suffering from PTSD, anxiety, depression and many other symptoms that get in the way of you accomplishing your goals.
