My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with over six years of experience working in the mental health field. I have experience providing individual, family, and group therapy, in-office and online. Children, young adults, and adults who have depression, anxiety, trauma, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), and bipolar are some of the people I've worked with. They also have a wide range of other problems, such as grief, relationship problems, foster care, abuse, oppositional defiant behavior, communication, anger management, family conflicts, self-esteem, and personal growth, as well as problems with adjustment, change, and life transitions.
In therapy, I draw techniques and perspectives from cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I mostly draw from the client-centered approach, which means that I make consistent efforts to meet each client where they are in their individual journey and help them to progress through their unique process of self-discovery and self-identification.
My credentials include:
-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the State of California, Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
-Brandman University Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy
-The University of California, Irvine Bachelor of Arts with Majors in Psychology and Social Behavior
I think it's very important to build a therapeutic relationship that isn't based on judgment or criticism. This way, we can work together to work through difficult life issues, process emotions, and live happier and more peaceful lives. The therapy process is tailored to your individual needs and experiences. I value creating a safe place that is focused on empathy and compassion.
I look forward to working with you!
