My Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy is based on Jungian psychoanalysis in combination with Integrative and Holistic approaches which look at an individual as a whole system: mind-body-spirit. Very often body speaks about psychological problems, and physical illness affects the mood and emotions. Jungian psychoanalysis looks at the processes of the psyche in a symbolic, metaphorical way allowing to see seemingly mundane things from a different perspective.

I believe that everything happens in people's lives for a reason, and life events can affect us on different levels starting from physical, continuing by emotional and finishing by spiritual. Therefore, my approach to psychotherapy is based on a combination of Eastern philosophy and Western science that look very differently at human experiences and approach suffering in distinct ways.

Trained in both traditional scientific and alternative spiritual approaches to psychotherapy, I use a variety of ways to help my clients address life complications they experience. My training in clinical hypnosis, tarot, handwriting analysis, and energy work all help me assist my clients in understanding themselves better and accessing their internal resources to make positive changes in their lives.

After having traveled the world and lived in different countries, I have experience working with culturally diverse clients.

​Having a professional background in linguistics, I pay particular attention to the effect that the language people use has on their worldview and their psychological well-being because the way we think and perceive the world affects the way the behave and actions we take.

My style of therapy is direct, and I call things by their names. At the same time, I am gentle and understanding of internal processes you go through.

Beside mental health counseling, my practice includes alternative holistic wellness services designed to help people connect with their inner power to overcome any difficulties they face to create the life they want.

I am flexible with my scheduling, and ready to consider different options that work for you.

My practice is partly in office in Portland and partly online, so any resident of Oregon and Minnesota can become my client to receive mental health services either face-to-face or via telehealth secure platform.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

I do long-term in-depth therapy because I want my clients to deal with whatever difficulties they have once and for all. It takes time (usually about 6 months) to build a really deep trust in therapeutic relationship to start addressing really deep issues of fear and shame that most often cause various symptoms.

In most cases, it is very important to have a session every single week because it creates consistency important for creating secure attachment and safety both on conscious and unconscious level.

    I enjoy working with adult individuals who are in the process of figuring out who they are and what kind of life they want for themselves. Depression, anxiety, trauma, stress make life hard and unhappy. Different symptoms such as insecurity, self-doubt, perfectionism may cloud the understanding of what makes you feel fulfilled and happy.

    Difficulties in communication, lack of connection, understanding and intimacy, frequent conflict are the issues that many couples face earlier or later in their relationships. I am glad to help couples find middle ground and finally hear each other. In couples work, I do not take sides or choose anyone of partners. I create the environment where both sides can feel heard and understood.
