My Approach to Helping
I enjoy working with clients who are up for a little work. I have a strong belief in the idea that therapy isn't something that is done to us, rather something we must take an active role in to see any true progress. I view therapy as another way to add more tools to our toolbox in an effort to better ourselves. My goal isn't to have a client for life; it is to teach the skills needed for my client to be their best selves, even after we have finished working together.
I specialize in providing a warm, compassionate, and calm environment. I am a great therapist for someone who is looking for warmth, and honesty, in all areas. I am the type of therapist who will be able to congratulate you on all your successes. While also crafting a space for you to be able to express all your thoughts, and feelings, however intense.
I want the chance to help you grow into your best self. My goal is by working together, you will learn things in a manner that allows you to function without me at some point. That way you can get what you need now and keep enjoying life to the fullest. Contact me for a free 10 minute consultation to see if we are a good match before you commit to therapy.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
In my opinion, the purpose of psychotherapy is to help the client overcome whatever challenges they are currently facing. I am not meant to be in your life for years. I am meant to be in your life long enough to help you face, and conquer, whatever issues you are dealing with. Teaching you the tools to manage your difficulties, even after you have exited services, is my main goal. The things you learn in therapy are additional tools in your toolbelt to be your best self.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to help guide you to your goals. In order to do this, I want to help you learn newer and healthier behaviors that better suit what you are trying to accomplish.
What I Usually Need to Know to Help
The most important thing that I need to know to help is what is happening, and has happened, in your life. I need unfettered honesty so that I can help you make the important connections between the events in your life and what can be done to change them.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
There are 3 important factors when it comes to choosing a therapist.
1. A good personality fit so you enjoy your visits with your therapist.
2. Feeling safe and nonjudged so you may talk to your therapist openly.
3. Knowing that your therapist is focused on your goals.
Always remember, a therapist is a service provider. If you don't like the service you're getting, something needs to change.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
I struggle with the word "disorder" to be honest. I feel that these "disorders" are really just differences. Differences that have their own advantages and disadvantages. If a person with one of these differences gets a bit of guidance they can turn their "disorder" into just another quirk of their humanity.
