My Approach to Helping

I'm available for Telehealth appointments during the COVID19 pandemic. You're not alone - contact me for an appointment.

Hello there! My name is Tamieka Caldwell and I am a clinical psychologist with a Master’s Degree from Roosevelt University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Self-Acceptance and Mindfulness & Energy Work approaches to healing and recovery. For those of you who are parents, you will be pleased to know I am certified in parent management training to assist parents with child behavior challenges.

I currently provide individual therapy to clients of many concerns and challenges including Perinatal & Postpartum Depression, Anxiety Worry, Depression, Highly Sensitive Person TraitEmpath, PTSD, LifeWork Balance, Low Self Esteem & Stress Management.

In your session with me, you will notice I use empowerment and meaningful assignments to help you achieve true healing. My goal is to be an agent of change and help you acquire appropriate coping strategies and boundaries.

A little about me: I enjoy drawing & brush lettering and reading comic books. My favorite artist is Frida Kahlo.

More Info About My Practice

Treatment sessions with each client are tailored to meet individual needs because you are the expert of your experience!

Although I am certified in Usui Reiki I do not currently practice energy healing however I may encourage assignments to balance and heal if a given client is open to this approach.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Every person encounters hard times and this includes me! I may be a therapist but my life isn't a cake walk and never has it been. I've experienced trauma, loss, grief, anxiety, depression, perinatal depression and postpartum anxiety. Because of all this, I, too, have been in therapy and believe every person from all walks of life should do it at least once with the right professional. It's helped me become a better woman, friend, sister, aunt, mom and partner once I did my self work. I still do my work for that matter and it's not easy. Hence I can empathize with the struggle and challenges my clients and future clients face. I, too, am a client and doing self work.
