My Approach to Helping
It is such an honor to be able to accompany people within their search for healing, insight, empowerment, connection, and authenticity. Within each of us lies an inner wisdom to help us weather the storms of life. Often times, however, it is hard to access this inner guide due to outside influences, fear, doubt, or from being out of alignment. As a therapist, I strive to help you connect to your authentic self in order to help you to have a more fulfilling experience on your life journey.
While listening to present struggles, I will also explore past experiences and key relationships to identify patterns that may need shifting. In addition to looking at challenges, I use a strength based approach to help empower you, increase confidence in your abilities, expand your sense of hope, and improve your relationship with yourself. Each person that I have the opportunity to sit with is a precious gift and I take the time to truly see you in the fullest sense possible. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, held, supported, while also being challenged to reach beyond the normal comfort zones. I applaud your courage for taking the first step towards positive change through therapy.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I feel so blessed to be in a profession that I truly love! There are so many aspects of my job that bring me joy that it's hard to narrow the answer down. One of the main parts of my work that I find especially fulfilling is the knowledge that I am providing a space for someone to be fully heard and seen. So often, we are forced or choose to hide our true selves from others or ourselves based on fear, pride, or lack of acceptance.
Providing a space for a person to come face to face with their authentic selves is such a powerful experience, and often the gateway for one to intentionally make and implement choices that reflect a greater level of authenticity. Another aspect of the work that I enjoy is that I am constantly reminded of how resilient we are as people. People often wonder how I can sit with such sadness, pain, and despair. The reality is that there are always opportunity to hold gratitude, joy, love, and hope along side the challenges. The fact that clients show up to therapy again and again is a constant reminder that hope still resides within.
