Billing and Insurance

I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage

Fees: Please contact me to discuss my fees. I do not work with insurance companies directly, but offer monthly statements for HSA or out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Many (PPO) plans reimburse their clients for therapy outside their insurance network. Contact your health insurance company to find out whether you are able to get out-of-network reimbursement for the cost of therapy.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

All of us are naturally oriented towards growth, healing, and inner fulfillment; we have amazing capacities to navigate and adapt to our environment. Sometimes we get stuck with old adaptations that no longer serve us in our current life and need the support of an experienced professional to help us begin moving again.

My job is to help you identify what gets in the way of living the life you want, improve the relationship you have with yourself and others, discover your internal resources and learn to use them to effectively, and introduce new tools to help you manage difficult thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and external events.

My Role as a Therapist

My my role as a therapist is centered around creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment in which your natural orientation towards growth and healing can emerge. I am here to help you discover your inner wisdom, resources, and strengths and to empower you to utilize them to create lasting change in your life. Together, we can untangle old patterns and reassess ways of coping with life's difficulties that are no longer serving you. I am also here to teach you tangible tools and skills that you can use in and outside of the therapy room to effectively manage overwhelming emotions, worry and anxiety, physical signs of distress, and challenging life situations.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

When choosing a therapist, making sure that there is a good fit between you and the therapist is essential. This idea of a "good fit" encompasses many factors including your level of comfort with your therapist, whether their speciality areas match what you are looking to get help with, the therapeutic approach(s) that they use in their work, and the therapist's level of curiosity, openness, and respect towards your unique identity and lived experience. It is not uncommon to speak and/or meet with several therapists before settling on the right one for you. When choosing a therapist pay attention to how you feel when you read about them, speak to them on the phone, and meet in person. Don't be afraid to ask questions and let your gut feeling help you make the right choice.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long and occur once per week. I work with clients to set up a regular time that best fits their schedule. Weekly sessions help to develop a strong therapeutic relationship and stay in the flow of moving towards treatment goals. I do offer different arrangements depending on your unique needs and goals for therapy.
