My Approach to Helping
Having 20+ years experience, I’m dedicated to supporting children, tweens, teens, young adults and parents. I specialize in behavioral challenges, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, self-esteem, adoptionattachment and other issues that impact one’s ability to function well in school & home, make and sustain friendships, and have positive family interactions.
I’m dedicated to working with parents looking for direction and support in navigating parenthood with young children or those whose children have a mental health diagnosis
I tailor my sessions and treatment to the needs of the individual - which may include CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness, aspects of DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Exposure Therapy (Exposure Response Prevention),Solution Focused Therapy and Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT). I provide goal oriented and practical strategies for coping with the challenges you and or child may be facing. I also provide ADHD Coaching & Parent Training and Psycho-education. When working with an attachment-based lens, this therapy recognizes the importance of the relationship between parents and child and focuses on repairing the ruptures is in the relationship and rebuilding emotionally secure relationships.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified School Social Worker and have many other post graduate certifications in the mental health field (such as ADHD, Anxiety Adoption and Attachment). In addition to the aforementioned therapeutic modalities, I'm also trained in the Nurtured Heart Approach, Positive Discipline, Collaborative Problem Solving-now known as Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS), Theraplay and Structural Family Therapy. Additionally, I'm a member of several professional organizations (such as NASW, CHADD, ATTACH, NJAWT & NJCA). I continue to attend educational training and workshops.
