I am an expert in helping people heal from Trauma, loss and family Dysfunction.

I help you connect to your Authentic self and enable you to heal what stands in the way of making your dreams come true.

I meet you where you are and we develop a plan for you to heal the issues that may have plagued you, your entire life.

I also have expertise in couples and family therapy. Relationships are truly the "pearl of great price", but it seems that most people never really discover this Pearl. When two people work together, there is nothing that can stand in their way, and I am here with the right tools, experience and expertise to enable you to realize the dreams that you had for one another when you chose to marry.

About 1/3 of my practice consists of teens and young adults. I love working with this age group because I don't expect them to come in and tell me how they feel and why they feel that way and what is the cause. I empower them to connect to their inner truth and take action from who they truly are.

I also love working with families using a family systems approach, I help each family member discover their gifts and then help the family learn to use their gifts to solve the problems the family is facing.

I don't like diagnoses because I work with the whole person. We have all been through challenge and some sort of Trauma and because I have been working on myself since my High School Psychology class, I know what it is like to be sitting in the "counselee's chair".

Some say that I am a "relationship and communication expert", because I can help any two or more people restore Harmony to their relationship. I have many tools in my toolbox but I co-create with you a plan for your return to your wholeness.

Finally, I can help you stop smoking, lose those pounds you have been trying to lose for 10 years. I use EMDR and other health coaching techniques to help you achieve optimum health by reducing and eliminating cravings.

More Info About My Practice

The difference between me and most therapists is that I am not your expert. YOU are the expert on you, and I help you connect with your inner expert; also known as your authentic self. Though I have great expertise in the field of therapy and counseling, and have many, many ways to help you heal, we will co-create a plan that will enable you to heal and be the ONE you have come here to be. I also utilize experiential methods of healing such as canine and equine therapy, guided visualization and EMDR and more. These experiential methods help you connect with your whole self and on all levels: emotional, physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, financial and more.
I love helping people gain control of cravings around food, smoking or other damaging things humans use to medicate the pain of not being about the business of making their lives work in every are of their life

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am very good at helping people deal with grief and loss. Actually, I think that nearly every problem begins with loss and then the grief that results from loss usually keeps a person from healing from the loss. We do not know how to deal with grief and loss in this society. The reason I am so good at dealing with loss and grief is because my only sibling, Linda, died in 2002 of a broken heart. The method she used was alcohol but the real reason was that she was not able to sustain her marriage with her alcoholic husband and he left her. She could not deal with the fall out and so did not want to live any more. I was so over-whelmed by this loss that I sought out a former therapist and he told me to get certified with the Grief Recovery Institute in CA after I did their grief program. That was one of the most important things I have ever done. Not only did I work through my loss and grief surrounding my sister's death but I also healed from issues that had stood in my way before. I am dedicated to your happiness, your wholeness.
You have the ability to deal with and heal from almost any issue. It starts with being willing to re-connect to your own magnificence and I am the one to help you do this. Then together, we will help you heal from all loss and
make your life about making your dreams come true.

My Therapy Focus

I meet you where you are and help you re-connect to your true and wonderful authentic self. Many people come to therapy thinking there is something truly wrong with them. Actually, what is wrong, typically is how we see ourselves or what we believe about ourselves. In connecting to your true and authentic self, and then identifying your strengths and inner gifts, you are able to heal what stands in the way of the expression of who you truly are.
I have many tools in that too box so that there is not one solution that fits everyone.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

I love being a therapist. In a sense, I have been a family therapist since I was 4. Terry Real, internationally famous relationship theorist tells us this: FAMILY DYSFUNCTION IS LIKE WILD FIRE, AND IT ROLLS FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION UNTIL SOMEONE HAS THE COURAGE TO FACE IT AND SAY STOP.
I was the one in my large extended family that did have the courage to face it and I can honestly say that this very act has stopped the dysfunction from moving past me. When my son was born, I knew that I wanted to be the best mother I could be and so I became 100% committed to heal my own issues so he would not have to bear them. My book that I authored in 2016, ALL CHILDREN ARE GIFTED: Raising Confident and Aware Children shows the way that I parented him by teaching him to listen to his Inner Knowing.
Thus I am very good at working with children and teens and families and couples because I understand what it is like to be troubled child from a dysfunctional family.
