My Approach to Helping
When you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, it can be helpful to talk with someone outside your circle of family and friends. I work with people who want to change how they're affected by anger, anxiety, depression, and impulsiveness, and people who are healing from traumatic events. I also assist people in dealing with life transitions (school, jobs, relationships, moving), conflict and boundaries with family members, and work or academic stress. Working together, I will aim help you understand yourself better, change unhelpful patterns, and identify strategies to increase your sense of well-being.
I offer a practical, flexible, and sensitive approach that is informed by current research, builds upon your strengths, and reflects your unique needs and life situation. My style is warm, interactive, and collaborative. I have particular strengths with mindfulness-informed therapy, brief therapy, and people who have survived trauma and difficult relationships.
