My Approach to Helping
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe empathetic space where you can express your thoughts and emotions as we work together, exploring your goals and finding new paths to meet the challenges in your life.
I have a strength based, person centered approach to therapy which is trauma informed and incorporates relational and psycho-dynamic therapy as well as aspects of cognitive therapy and mindfulness based techniques. No one type of therapy works with every person or issue. My integrative approach is tailored to your specific needs.
My professional counseling experience and training includes working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, trauma and crisis counseling, and emotionally focused therapy. I have had the opportunity to provide support to individuals in all stages of life, from college students to senior adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, work stress and relationship issues.
