My Approach to Helping
I have a strength based, person centered approach to therapy which is trauma informed and incorporates relational and psychodynamic therapy as well as aspects of narrative and mindfulness based techniques. I focus my practice on the individual needs of my clients. No one type of therapy works with every person or issue. The most important aspect of the therapy process is the connection between therapist and client. My role as your therapist is to build a collaborative relationship formed by mutual respect and trust in which we work to uncover and dismantle emotional roadblocks preventing you from taking action and reaching your goals.
My professional counseling experience and training includes working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, trauma and crisis counseling, and emotionally focused therapy. I have had the opportunity to provide support to individuals in all stages of life, from college students to senior adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, work stress and relationship issues.
