My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I work with teens, adults, and couples. My first objective in therapy is to provide a non-judgmental and safe place where clients can focus on concerns ranging from depression and anxiety to relationships and career issues. I use a strengths-based, solution-focused counseling perspective; and, I practice holistic self- and client care. I study Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for depression and anxiety issues at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Pennsylvania and am a proponent of Positive Psychology, which concentrates on helping people flourish instead of focusing on mental illnesses. I practice mindfulness meditation and love to bike with my husband, spend time with friends and family, travel, and do art projects.
