I have a passion for helping people discover or rediscover joy. I love to listen to people, to hear their stories and to help them navigate through troubles and difficulties. I see people as whole beings, not separate from their bodies or their relationships, or experiences; so I don't want to bring a microscope to a single area of an individual's life but instead draw the focus out to a broader, fuller appreciation of each person. I enjoy teaching the incredible power and usefulness of mindfulness practice, especially with the exciting (and now abundant) scientific data that helps explain to healthy skeptics (like myself) that meditation changes our brains.

More Info About My Practice

I currently am the sole practicioner at North Colorado Springs Counseling, LLC. Please visit my website for more detailed information about me and my practice.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I coach parents in the skills they need to bring contentment into their home.

I help mothers who are overwhelmed, trying to do everything right, and feeling increasingly empty inside. I help women learn to cope with stress and anxiety in a world with too much information coming at us from every direction.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

In the middle of my life I changed career path in order to help people. I didn't do that because I have everything figured out, I did that because years ago I hit a wall, and with the help of others I got through. As a Marine Officer, and spouse of another; being vulnerable wasn't in my repertoire. My role in life was to help the vulnerable, so I thought. Through emotional struggles and illness, I learned that being vulnerable takes incredible courage and is of much greater service to others than a bullet-proof facade.
