My Approach to Helping
I listen to people -- especially men who seem to "have it all" -- to help them find out why they don't feel good about themselves, why they're disconnected with activities and people, or feel alone and isolated from spouse and children. I help people explore why they feel as if their marriage is unrewarding or they're a failure as a parent.
I help you find the ways to express your feelings--especially difficult for men--while being non-judgmental. Together we can help you understand where your problems are coming from and explore options and choices to address them. I act with you as a partner to help you develop the skills to manage your life better.
More Info About My Practice
I work with men and women in the "prime of life", when they're supposed to "have it all".
But we know that's not always the case. Men may have become distant from family or people at work, or have difficulty expressing emotions because of the way they were raised. Women have issues coming from both inside and out, including hormonal issues, social issues, discrimination-related concerns, and others.
In therapy, we work together to identify the key issues which cause your concerns, and then develop strategies to overcome them--or work around them. Once you see how the strategies work, you are able to reconnect emotionally with those around you, and restore good solid communication with them.
