My Approach to Helping
I engage with my clients using a warm, empathetic and non-judgmental approach to facilitate their comfort and sense of safety during the process of therapy. I provide a space in which your emotions and experiences are validated while I encourage you to work towards meaningful and positive changes in your life.
I am a trained generalist and I use an integrative approach that is tailored to your goals in treatment. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MB-CT), and psychodynamic therapeutic techniques, to help you work towards a greater sense of well-being. I specialize in the treatment of a wide-range of clinical issues; among these are depression, anxiety, disordered eating, trauma and relationship difficulties. My other areas of interest include life transitions, stress management, grief, and identity issues. I also work with couples using the Gottman method and Emotionally-Focused Couples' Therapy (EFT) techniques to enhance the quality of your intimate relationship.
