My Approach to Helping

I engage with my clients using a warm, empathetic and non-judgmental approach to facilitate their comfort and sense of safety during the process of therapy. I provide a space in which your emotions and experiences are validated while I encourage you to work towards meaningful and positive changes in your life.

I am a trained generalist and I use an integrative approach that is tailored to your goals in treatment. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MB-CT), and psychodynamic therapeutic techniques, to help you work towards a greater sense of well-being. I specialize in the treatment of a wide-range of clinical issues; among these are depression, anxiety, disordered eating, trauma and relationship difficulties. My other areas of interest include life transitions, stress management, grief, and identity issues. I also work with couples using the Gottman method and Emotionally-Focused Couples' Therapy (EFT) techniques to enhance the quality of your intimate relationship.

I would be honored to help you on your journey to enhance the quality of your life and relationships. Please contact me to begin your journey.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

"Only the wounded healer can truly heal."-- Irvin D. Yalom. I am a strong believer that in order to be a better therapist we must do our own personal work in therapy. I am better able to understand your struggles because I have experienced my own difficulties, specifically related to my father's passing in my early twenties. I am able to provide you with care that is validating and compassionate because I understand the positive impact that this empathetic approach can have on your experience of therapy.
