Just as an acorn has everything within itself that it needs to grow into a strong oak tree, I believe we as humans have the exact same potential. Our struggles can hinder our process of growth and potential. I believe that "bad" people do NOT exist, rather, our environment has shaped us to react in various ways throughout our lifetime. There is hope for every individual who wishes for change, and change is achievable. I specialize in Sexual Addiction, Sexual Anorexia and Sex Aversion, and Intimacy Issues. I have a strong passion and specialize in helping men and women overcome struggles with sex and sexuality. I have sex therapy and sex addiction training. I create a safe environment where we can discuss sex and sexual concerns individually and in couples therapy.

More Info About My Practice

I understand the unique process of adolescent development. Often, adolescents are thought to be "out of control", "risky" or "rebellious." However, when we take a look at all the changes adolescents undergo mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and developmentally, much of their behavior makes sense. This includes porn use, as well as, alcohol and drug use. The great news is with intervention, supportive parents, and the willingness to change, an adolescent can overcome their acting out behaviors.

Previously in my training, I spent several months counseling juveniles with substance abuse. I am accustomed to and comfortable working with teens who are angry, frustrated, and do not want to make a change. I create a safe and fun environment that is teen friendly. I use several types of counseling interventions including games, group counseling, music, art, activities, and more. I also offer family counseling. Together we will help you and/or your teen grow toward the fullest potential.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Much of my story parallels with many of my clients. I grew up with two parents who were both addicts, and I over came many forms of abuse throughout my childhood and adolescence. My culture and environment shamed all forms of sexuality and self-expression, and I found myself lost. Between my childhood abuse and shamed sexuality, I struggled to trust others, connect, and be vulnerable and intimate with others. This impacted my relationships with everyone (partners, friends, family) and I felt very isolated and misunderstood. It wasn't until I sought help to heal that I began to find serenity and acceptance in the chaos I had created to stay safe.

My struggles help with connect me with my clients, and guide them on their journey to serenity and acceptance as they overcome childhood trauma, family of origin issues, sexuality, and much more that has impacted their sexual development and/or addictive behaviors.

I have a true passion for helping men and women overcome their inability to have sex with their partners. I create a safe environment to help you explore the many factors that have impacted your current state of being. It's my hope that together we can help you connect to yourself and others in a way that you never have before.
