My Approach to Helping
As a clinical psychologist, I endeavor to assist my patients in achieving greater autonomy and awareness. I believe that working on one's emotional well-being can create new opportunities in personal and professional relationships while also addressing challenges such as anxiety, irritability, negative self-image, depression, and trauma. As a therapist, I blend my expertise in psychotherapy and psychological testing with respect for an individual's unique experiences and beliefs. Insight and collaborative exploration will be pursued in order to better alleviate duress and to develop and achieve new goals.
More Info About My Practice
Self-payment fees are currently $125 per hour. A sliding scale fee may be possible on a case-by-case basis. Claims for insurance processing will be filed by me. I am currently an in-network clinical psychologist for Blue Cross and Blue Shield PPO as well as Gilsbar insurance and I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurances. Unfortunately, I cannot accept Medicaid or Medicare at this time.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I view the purpose of psychotherapy as assisting each individual in living with greater intentionality and creativity. In my opinion, therapy aims to examine current patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting in order to understand their meaning and function, including how they might relate to the past. From there, the patient is assisted in better comprehending their motivations, strengths, and weaknesses so that they might challenge repetitive patterns as well as to better participate in their life with increased choice, self-direction, and engagement.
