My Approach to Helping
My goal is to help individuals find a better, healthier way of being in their lives. To this end, I assist individuals in improving their emotional well-being through warm, genuine, non-judgmental exploration of their experiences. In this exploration, I work with the individual in a collaborative process to guide them to heal the core wounds/struggles. This process not only helps improve current symptoms and distress but also provides the individual with skills that are helpful in their future.
In addition to using more traditional therapeutic interventions (with a focus on one's emotional/internal experience), I also incorporate a holistic approach. In general, this means in considering all aspects of the individual, including mind, body, and spirit; which specifically includes using interventions such as meditation, body awareness work, and yoga.

We consider our approach holistic, as we value the mind, body, and spirit and work to help you integrate all aspects of the self in a way that is genuine and congruent for you. To this end, we are committed to helping you on your journey through warm, non-judgmental exploration.
Better Being offers a variety of different services each designed to fit your unique needs, including individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and psychological assessment.

While my specialties include trauma/PTSD, substance use issues, first responders, and active and retired military service members and their families, I'm happy to help with a wide variety of presenting problems/struggles.
