My Approach to Helping
My passion is working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and stress. I also enjoy working with couples. I have completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and utilize this in my work. I offer a warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental approach, with an empathetic personality. I utilize evidence-based treatment interventions and believe in the importance of healing and recovery.
More Info About My Practice
Counseling is a powerful asset for helping you reach your individualized goals and work through difficult issues. I may not be able to solve all of your problems, but I can promise you will not have to face them alone.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to help guide and facilitate the change you seek through support, encouragement, and the use of various therapeutic interventions. I may teach you new skills and techniques that are going to feel strange and unnatural at times, but trust me, with practice it will eventually become second nature! A willingness to try alongside following through with recommendations outside of our sessions is all that is needed.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
Our therapeutic relationship is the most important part of beginning psychotherapy. This is essentially the trust that is formed between a therapist and client. Our relationship together is the best predictor of treatment outcome and essential to the success a client experiences. Collaboratively, we will develop a relationship bond, agree on therapeutic goals, and have a united consensus on treatment objectives. I pride myself on remaining authentic and committed to the care of my clients!
