My Approach to Helping

I have worked with people like you as a therapist and healer for 12 years but my personal journey of trauma and recovery began long before this. My childhood years were fraught with attachment disorders, addictions and anxiety. It wasn’t until I became an adult that my path to healing began.

Along the way, I have experienced many kinds of therapy, all of which have been helpful in different ways. The techniques and methods that I use in my practice are a combination of the experience that I have gained through training as well as my personal therapy journey.

As a therapist, I have learned that being self aware and taking care of my own self is essential in order to be the best therapist for you. I’m a therapist who strongly believes in the importance of taking care of me so that I can take care of you.

What I have learned in my journey of healing is that you may have a disorder like depression, anxiety or PTSD but these disorders do not define a human being. You are infinite potential and possibility. Whatever disorder you are struggling with is an opportunity to be able to experience the goodness of what life has to offer if we are willing to go into those dark places and emerge as a wiser and more compassionate person.

Leonard Cohen said, “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in”. My greatest interest as a therapist is in helping you get unstuck. I want you to leave my office feeling renewed, invigorated and inspired. The techniques that I use make therapy an invigorating, creative and empowering experience even for the most serious issues. It’s not just talk therapy, although of course talk will always be a part of it. My job is to help you find and develop your best self and I’m committed too doing that well.

I graduated in 2011 with an MS in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University. I have completed Level one and Level 2 advanced trauma certificates from the Ferentz Institute. I have also completed additional trainings in psychodrama and somatic body based psychotherapy. I am currently attending a four year program in “Somatic Psychotherapy Training in Contemporary Orgone Therapy“.

Let me show you what is possible! My ongoing training and my commitment to take care of my own mind and body is what allows me to be there for you. What brought me to being a therapist in the first place is the excitement, compassion and possibility that comes with exploring the human experience. I would like to offer you the opportunity to experience life changing therapy so that you can unlock your potential!
