My Approach to Helping
What ‘limiting belief’ is running your show? What negative belief or question you have about yourself affects the quality of your life? For example, Is something wrong with me? Why am I not good enough? Why am I alone? Am I a failure?, Why don’t I feel safe? etc. Often, an event, or series of events, happens in childhood and we form a belief about ourselves and the world, which gets reinforced throughout our years. This delusion of consciousness can be like a prison. Our ‘limiting beliefs’ keep us stuck in negative patterns and behaviors. Identifying and challenging our ‘limiting beliefs’ is a game-changer.
I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based psychotherapy approach that works to heal mental, emotional, and behavioral issues such as trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, addiction, codependency, and relationship problems. EMDR helps identify unwanted patterns and behaviors making room for the development of new patterns and behaviors that will help you fulfill your human potential and achieve happiness. Avoiding, numbing, burying, and running from our pain and suffering only makes our problems bigger. When disturbing memories are processed, past pain is weakened, life becomes less stressful and more manageable.
Together we will work on breaking old patterns that keep you stuck and building new patterns that will help you create a more meaningful and fulfilling life. I work with teens, adults, and seniors. In addition to EMDR, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Mindfulness Techniques.
