What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
As I work in this field of coachingcounseling I have the pleasure of watching my clients go from being frustrated at their lack of success in a certain area. Often they are successful in some areas of their life. But as they transform the area(s) where they are stressed before they are empowered to achieve the life of their dreams.
My Role as a Therapist
I see my job as first helping you get clarity on what you really want. What is causing you to feel like you can't achieve your goals no matter how hard you try. Perhaps you keep making the same mistakes over and over? Perhaps you procrastinate? Perhaps you feel fearful or have doubts about yourself? We identify what is stopping you from succeeding in your goals. We look at how past events can sometimes still be haunting you in the present. You learn to see the doubts andor beliefs, you heal past events that still haunt you. Then then set out and follow an action plan to succeed and lead the life you desire.
My role as a therapist is to help you achieve your dreams. The goals that we work on are your goals. Your transformation into being successful in areas that have stymied you before is the reward.
What Makes up a Problem?
There are many ways that too much stress shows up in our life. Perhaps you notice things like being a constant worry wart. Perhaps there are too many negative thoughts. Perhaps every time you think of a goal you have your critical "inner voice" tells you that you can't succeed. Perhaps you find yourself making the same mistakes over and over again. It could be something like always choosing a partner who is emotionally absent. You want to change these negative patterns but you don't know how. If it was easy, you would have already done it.
When you are stressed, you may also have a number of physical symptoms such as headaches, aches or pains in the body, stomach or digestive problems or getting colds fairly often.
