My Approach to Helping
In Individual Psychotherapy, my first goal is to reach an in-depth understanding of your issues and needs. I typically probe the context and the history that has brought about your decision to improve your well being.
We delve into the issues which hinder your capacity to attain a better quality of life and the fulfillment of your fullest possible potential. I strive to identify your beliefs and fears; with careful listening and emphatic understanding I arrive at value-adding interpretations, which enable me to offer you actionable recommendations.
As Therapy progresses, patterns of reasoning and actions which surface through recurring automatic thoughts are uncovered. This process enables me to reach a comprehensive understanding of each one of my clients, and of hisher functioning. When sharing these insights with you, you will start to better understand yourself, your relationships, and the world that surrounds you!
I find that a cognitivebehavioral approach often leads to therapeutic success, but, on a case-by-case basis, I exercise careful judgement as to the techniques I apply.
Through a non-judgmental, caring, but pro-active stance, you will notice that an empowering process gets underway, leading to your enhanced self-esteem. I am often able to discern progressive improvements in the choices you make by and for yourself, and am gratified to then see you on a path to living a more meaningful life.
