I became a passionate believer in talk therapy because of my 35 years of experience helping people talk. The expression of all of our thoughts and feelings is the first step towards clarifying and defining our concerns. My purpose is to help you with this process in a compassionate, understanding, non-judgemental way. Together we will explore what is on your mind and determine how to proceed. We all have positive and negative thoughts and feelings. Having a safe place in which to express them and have them acknowledged can provide amazing relief and awareness. Often times we act on our feelings instead of understanding them. I like to work with intention. What is the intended outcome you wish to achieve? Then we can move forward with awareness and intelligence. Everyone can thrive in a nourishing environment.

More Info About My Practice

As we grow older we become aware of our past regrets and present desires. The stigma that therapy once had has faded and we can examine our lives with honesty and purpose. As we age, we experience more sadness and loss. It is sometimes difficult to realize that while we are still alive we are capable of experiencing more growth and happiness as well as joy. How do I want to live each day now that I am where I am? What more do I want to accomplish? What kind of relationships do I want with my children, my grandchildren, my friends? How do I want to relate to the world? Time is precious.

I am also interested in working with parents and children and helping them listen to and understand one another. Feeling understood is invaluable for parents, children, couples, and actually all relationships.

Creative people have their own concerns and I enjoy the process of liberating those who are experiencing inhibitions and doubt about their work.

I have worked in this field for over 35 years and am available for supervision of therapists individually or in small groups. I offer special fees for students who are interested.

I invite you to call or email if you would like to know more about this process.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Consulting with someone once can relieve your doubt. The fact that you are thinking about it is an important clue that you are interested. It could be great!!!

Groups I Work With

I work well with creative issues such as creative block and critical judgment - everything that interferes and inhibits creative expression. Parents and children issues interest me since I am schooled in emotional education and feel everyone needs to be able to express all feelings appropriately so they do not interfere with functioning in a healthy productive way. I like to work with the aging population as they have particular issues to deal with in order to get on with enjoying life along with experiencing loss. I like to work with single women, children of divorced parents, and parents dealing with aging parents. I have worked with many writers, artists, and educators. I am very interested in emotional education in the home and in the schools. I can work by telephone and online from most places in the world.

I work with people in transition in their lives and those dealing with loss.

I have worked with social workers and therapists in small supervisory groups as well as individually. I offer a discount to students for supervision.
