My Approach to Helping
Therapeutic Approach: My goal is to provide a supportive, comfortable environment for you to explore all the reasons that led you to make the decision to seek help, and then together formulating your own goals. I believe that working as a team and having a positive counselor-client relationship is the foundation for successful treatment. My therapeutic approach depends on my assessment of your personality and any challenges you may be facing. I believe in providing a warm, judgment free atmosphere that allows you to truly be yourself and not feel alone in your process. I will work to meet you where you are, and together we can look at your life and your many choices in new ways.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change. - Carl Rogers
About Me: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am very involved in physical fitness, especially cycling. I am an animal lover and have fostered many kittens and placed them with good families. I also enjoy reading, movies, cheering on my favorite sports teams, and traveling.
More Info About My Practice
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from LaSalle University. During my four years there I was able to partake in service learning classes and worked alongside children and young adults ranging from ages 3-21 who had developmental disabilities. After graduating from LaSalle I attended graduate school at New Jersey City University, where I earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. During my time at NJCU I completed internships in both fields, and successfully passed the National Counselor’s Exam (NCE).
