My Approach to Helping
I use a variety of treatment methods, as I believe that each person's needs are unique and that they deserve a treatment plan that is individualized to them. I have extensive training in multiple trauma treatment methods, including EMDR and Somatic Experiencing (SE.) SE is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. In addition, the SE approach releases traumatic shock, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.
My goal is to help clients build greater resiliency and eventually learn self-reliance. I want to teach you how to help yourself be the person you want to be and love yourself a little more along the way.
