My Approach to Helping
I believe in providing a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can share their deepest hurts and worries. My approach to counseling is eclectic and I often use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and EDMR to help clients identify their negative core beliefs and work toward a more adaptive and healthy way of thinking. As you change your thinking, your emotions and behaviors will follow.
It is so important to get to the root of the problem, instead of masking symptoms. Once you uncover the foundational issues, the heart and mind can begin to heal. Even if you've never had counseling before or had a bad experience in the past, I believe that I can help you change in ways you never thought possible. I would be honored to share in that healing process with you and to facilitate the reprocessing and restoring of your emotional and mental health. The beauty of restoration often exceeds that of its original condition.
The process of counseling can be scary, but I aim to provide a warm and therapeutic place for you to tackle some of your deepest fears and hurts. Take the step today and call for a free consultation. I look forward to talking with you!

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
As a levels I & II EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained counselor, I specialize in treating trauma-related issues and PTSD. However, I often use EMDR to help with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem problems. EMDR is one of the most effective treatments available for the treatment of PTSD and often works much faster than other interventions and has lasting results. I am passionate about the power of EMDR and I love to watch as it transforms clients' lives.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
The purpose of the psychotherapy process is to help people identify and reach their goals to reduce mental and emotional distress and to lead a life filled with hope and purpose. The ultimate goal of counseling is that you won't need counseling anymore! While many people might return to counseling to work through a transitional period in their life or other periodic issues, the idea is to build coping strategies and support networks so you don't need to rely on your counselor. I want you to feel confident and empowered to face new, life challenges as they come your way.
