My Approach to Helping
As humans, one of our core needs is to feel seen, understood, and valued for our experience. In a chaotic, changing world, it can be difficult to form the type of supportive networks that allow individuals to feel valued or empowered. I believe therapy offers everyone the opportunity to develop self-growth, emotional intelligence, and meaningful action to reach personal potential. Through my practice, I hope to support individuals who are seeking to heal from past hardships, build helpful coping strategies, and discover emotional wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment.
My primary approach to therapy is rooted in evidence-based, person-centered theories with an emphasis on building trust, acceptance, purpose, and meaning. I use trauma-informed approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness-Based techniques to support healing from trauma, with a focus on integrating body and mind.
Finding a therapist who fits your needs is a personal process. It can feel intimidating and overwhelming. I hope to provide a space for clients that respects your counseling needs while honoring the courage it takes to begin the healing process.
