My Approach to Helping

My role as a Creative Consultant and Wellness Psychologist, MA is to open the space for my clients to gain an understanding of their purpose, themselves, and the world around them through relational and scientific-based practices. I create a holistic environment that capitalizes on diversity and meets the needs of my clients by offering a variety of learning methods.

To properly offer adequate space for growth, I must first understand who I am and how my presence resonates with others. That being said, I align my philosophy with my theoretical orientation as a Wellness Psychologist, MA. I do not present as all-knowing, or an expert on life, however, I offer a space of credibility. I am skilled in several theoretical orientations, multicultural competencies, creative expressions, and counseling techniques. I integrate real-life experiences to help my clients increase their creative and intuitive knowledge. I encourage my clients to use critical thinking and creativity when processing information. To do so, I offer a range of pedagogical methods that target inclusivity, personal learning goals, experimental learning, case method learning, and problem-based learning to help my clients grow not only within their business but as self-directed individuals.

I teach clients how to develop their identity. I encourage clients to be ambitious, driven, and accountable for their decisions. I challenge my clients by emboldening them to question things when they are skeptical or researching when they need more understanding. I support their journey while also instilling an atmosphere of set expectations so personal growth cannot only be pursued but also sustained.

As a Creative Consultant and Wellness Psychologist, MA, I endeavor to provide my clients with the space to explore their truth.

With Intention, Sarafina

More Info About My Practice

WHAT DOES THERAPY LOOK LIKE WITH ME?

1. Incorporation of Mindfulness and Wellness within the client to learn the fundamentals of how to heal. We must learn the bases of caring for ourselves before we can create change internally.

2. Encouragement and Validation of your experiences. What is it like to be you? Do you feel comfortable speaking with me or someone else about your presenting concerns?

3. Establish support and create solutions with the client to build sustainability. If you can not implement what you learn in therapy outside of therapy I am not doing my job!

4. Continue to show up for yourself in many ways! The work is not done after you leave the therapy room! Create art, join support groups, incorporate wellness in totality. In other words, continue to participate in your healing! I am here to support you.

5. Termination. We are in everyone's life for a season, if ours is up, I will explore that with you and support your transitions as best as I can.

You aren't alone in this.
