One of the hardest things about getting help is making sure the person "gets" you. That's why we go to our friends and family first - we don't have to explain everything! But for those times when you need more help than they can give, finding the right therapist can make all the difference. I specialize in working with first-generation Americans and take an intersectional approach to therapy. I understand what it feels like to be part of multiple communities, and that a therapist without this background may "diagnose" things that are just part of your family and your culture. I have extensive training in providing LGBTQ+ affirming therapy and am part of the community myself. I believe the most important part of therapy is to not feel judged. When you're with someone who understands you, you can get to the work of solving your issues. I use a conversational style of therapy, and my clients most often describe me as "the friend who knows what it's like."

More Info About My Practice

I offer solution-focused therapy for high achievers. My clients already know what to do to solve their problems - it may not always be obvious to them, but I help them be honest about what they need and how to get it. I help individuals and couples learn to speak up for themselves when it counts, and how to let the little things go. People leave therapy with me feeling clear, confident, and generous. They no longer have to put up walls to protect themselves or feel resentful that the people in their lives are letting them down. They maintain lasting change because they aren't really changing - they are just revealing their true selves.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

My favorite thing about being a therapist is when people don't need me anymore!

Well, what I love is the feeling of "everything falling into place," and people feeling good about the choices they make.

I love when people feel like I'm saying exactly what they're thinking, and they feel like, "finally, yes, you get it!"

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Ask yourself what's holding you back from seeking therapy. Really, think of your answer!

Does that hold you back in other areas of your life?

Ask yourself what you'd do to start feeling better about the issue that's bothering you.

What if all you had to do was make a phone call?
