It has not been easy. It's been hard to find your own voice, to feel good about yourself and your relationships. You might not fully understand why you feel, think, or behave the way you do. There are parts of yourself that you can't recognize sometimes, parts you dislike or even hate. It is hard to let go of secrets, shame, and other feelings that are overwhelming, heavy, or draining.

Things happened in the past that still impact your life today. For a long time you've played roles in your relationships that you don't want to play anymore. You have had to pretend that you are someone you are not, that things are fine, and have felt trapped by impossible expectations that keep you feeling you will never be good enough. At the same time, you might be worried about what could happen if people really knew you deep inside, if they really knew who you are.

When we are so used to paying attention to others, it becomes difficult to know what we really want, what we really need, and who we really are. Maybe you felt unheard, unseen, rejected, or abandoned by people you loved, and you are afraid that it might happen again. As a result, you are either very anxious about what other people might think or feel about you, or you go through life by inertia, without a clear purpose or simply feeling stuck.

I believe these are some of the experiences that define our humanity, not conditions to pathologize or label. They tend to occur when we learn, consciously or not, to keep parts of ourselves hidden in the dark. As a therapist, I see myself as a companion in your journey to gain awareness, understanding, acceptance, and love for every part of you, because they all make you who you are.

Healing, like life, is a journey with no shortcuts. It happens in the context of the relationship we will develop, and relationships take time. This is a journey that you don't need to take alone.

More Info About My Practice

I work with individuals, couples, and groups, including a wide range of age groups, sexual identity and orientation, lifestyles and life stages.

Most of the people I work with have had a number of experiences during childhood that impacted the way they feel about themselves, the way they relate to others, and the way they think about relationships. These early experiences can be manifested in many ways, including anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, relationship and intimacy problems, loneliness, feelings of worthlessness, etc.

I believe healing requires addressing the issues underlying these symptoms with kindness, curiosity, and compassion. I will provide a safe space, free of judgements, where every part of you is welcomed and accepted.

My Role as a Therapist

I may offer a different perspective, raise questions that have not been asked, and help you develop awareness and kindness. I cannot tell you what you should do, and will not offer quick tips or skills from a manual. I strongly believe the answers you seek, you already carry within.
