My Approach to Helping
If you are feeling stuck and hopeless, it can be hard to reach out for help. But you don't have to keep feeling that way. Every day, I help people struggling with depression, anxiety, insecurity, relationship, and family-of-origin issues that are stopping them from living their best lives.
Our work together will help you understand the origin of your issues, which can give you the insight you have been missing. But we will focus mostly on the present and future. I never waste your time in session, and your work with me will give you many concrete cognitive and behavioral tools that can help you move forward in proactive ways. In therapy, I match your effort and encourage you to think. I am nonjudgmental and open-minded. My clients tell me I am genuine and honest, and I like to use humor in session when it can help. In couples work, I am unbiased and straight-talking.
