My Approach to Helping
Many people experience normal times of sadness, emotional turmoil, or obstacles in their life. However, sometimes these rough patches can spiral into depression, anxiety, or communication problems. Samantha offers expert counseling that focuses on changing the thoughts and reactions that contribute to feelings of worthlessness, guilt, helplessness and hopelessness. You can learn to identify these negative thoughts and replace them with more realistic and healthy ideas. You will begin to feel better and learn strategies to overcome your difficulties.
Samantha offers an open environment to her clients to encourage a healthy therapeutic relationship where they are able to bring anything to the table. She strives to be congruent with her clients and help them understand their concerns from within their own stories. With a diverse background, Samantha has experience working with the different challenges a blended family, young adults, and those in the LGBT community will experience. Boundaries, identity issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, and communication concerns are just a few of Samantha's areas of expertise. Her goal is to help her clients gain a better understanding of how these concerns appear in their lives and how they can once again get control over those negative forces through individual strength-based therapy.
